Jeff said he raced it at the team ice race a couple weeks back and liked it. I'll have to get the scope this weekend at the banquet. Maybe it will slow him down so someone else can win the enduro series this year:)
Would love to see Kawi make a cross country version of the bike to give the CRF250X a run for its money. Nobody better than Fredette to develop it, and with the upcoming emissions regs, the KDX is not going to be around forever.
Smart move for him I think. I would imagine the KDX business is getting a little tired. Grabbing on to a new bike and making new parts and promoting a new bike will be a welcome change for him.
I thought I heard he raced it at the last WORCS race (Stillwater OK) a couple months ago. Anybody heard that? From what I have read about the bike it has gotten alot of good reviews. But I did hear that it is very prone to overheating (on a motocross track) but I am sure Jeff can figure that out.
Talked to Jeff at the Dist 17 banquet on Saturday night. Sounded like he will still race the KDX as his primary bike and is just testing / having fun on the thumper. He has been ice racing it and said it is a blast.
I spoke to Jeff about this at the ISDT Reunion last October. Kawasaki was giving him one to test for the '04 season along with a KDX. He usually gets two KDXs and saves one for the six days. Jeff rode a 4-stroke back in '94. That was the first year of the KLX250. He rode it at the Tulsa six days.
I was working an OB this last weekend and know one thing with the RM250F, they
will have to do somthing with the exhaust. These bikes are WAY to loud for wood
and would never pass a sound test. I yelled at every one that came by. If I had the
control I would have baned all of them that didnt have a better exhaust system on them. If your riding one of these bikes keep in mind that the stock muffler and pipe
are for CC not woods, I cant stand the MORONS that get these bikes and go woods riding with them in stock condition.
