i took apart my clutch on my 90' cr 125 today to find out that the friction plate "fingers are scraping the case covers, and leaving little sparkles of meatall in my oil. :bang:

now i noticed that when the clutch is completly assembled, the friction plate fingers if pushed in a up or down aor side to side motion, they can rub. why do the fingers stick out so far that they can rub..

if they are just sitting still their fine. but when force is applied, ie. riding , then they will rub.

maybe the owner before me put the wrong plates in? :|

i found someone selling a complete clutch kit for my bike for about $70. retail is $90 so i think i may go for it and see if the friction plates are the same, but for now can some one help? :coocoo:

i noticed the same thing on my 95 cr250......stock clutch the bike had some rub marks on the inside of the side case from the fingers...never did figure out why i even replaced the hub bearings because of a little play but didn't seem to help though i bet most of the little sparkles are just from you clutch wearing
