Wich 250?

Ive been looking for a better bike in the near future and ive narrowed it down to either a crf250r or a crf250x. Im probably not planning on racing, but i will do track riding. I live in wisconsin and i can get enough $ for either bike. I ride mostly woods, field, and light tracks. Is the gear ratio of the crfx a whole lot worse for the track than the crfr? I want the lightweightness of the crf250r but the versitility of the crf250x. Any ideas?

For an occasional play day at the track an X would be fine.

I like my R but an X would've done me fine. They're pretty similar and I love the feel of the chassis. The wide ratio tranny would be awesome on some of the more open trail we have near the mountains here. Keep up on the maintenance and they're good bikes.
