Will the fork/shock springs from an 05.06 yz125 fit a 2006 yz250f? I need lighter springs when I pick up my bike Friday and the spring rates of the 05/06 yz125 are perfect for me.

Are you positive they are different. I bought a set of 05 yz125 fork and shock springs. I put the shock in but not the fork yet. Masterphil, where are you getting your info from because if I knew they wouldn't have worked, I wouldn't have bought em...That SUCKS if they're not gonna work

lengths are different. Even the 04s is different than the 05s.

racetech uses the 4447 for the 05s, and 4445 for the 06s

looks like length and diameter are different:

4445 - 44x450mm
4447 - 43.6x472mm

So is it that different to the extent that I cant use it? That blows man, bad info on the web!

over 20mm difference in length. they wont work.

the web is free advice. Only as good as the person that gives and then you still have to follow up on things.

Yamaha does have on their parts fische alternative chassis parts. So if the springs would be the same, they would have the same numbers. You can check all this on the yamaha-motor.com site easily. Also racetech is a good source of info on springs. So you really needed to do more research before buying. live and learn.

Yeah, I could have done more searching. But if someone just outright says "yes", Im gonna think theyll work. Luckily I didn't get them installed yet cause last week I was thinking of bringing my forks into a shop to get them put in. The guy would have told me off and I woulda felt like a dumbass...

look at the "alternative chassis" section of the yamaha fische. there is a lot of optional springs there. they are pretty inexpensive to. dealer cost is usually 20-30 bucks
