will this hurt anything?

i replaced the sprockets on my kx and found the front to be alittle big,meaning it has alittle bit of movement on the shaft whereas the old was a tight fit.both the old and new are aftermarket but diff brands.as i rotate the rear wheel i can see the sprocket move some on the shaft with each rotation and if i try to i can move it around some with my hand with the chain installed.do you guys think this will hurt the shaft or the countershaft bearing?just asking since both the chain and sprockets are brand new and i really didnt want to have to buy another sprocket.thanks for any input. :ride:

I would think it will cause some wear on the shaft .

Yes; either the sprocket or shaft or both could be hurt. That amount of free play gives the shaft a running start before it hits the sprockets splines. It likely would quickly damage the splines on one or the other.

Your call but I would not use it if I can easily move it on the shaft. Can you return it?

I would rather pay for a new front sprocket now as compared to replacing the output shaft later.....there should be no noticable play between the splines.
