win xp, evidence eliminator...ooops/help

OK I upgraded to win xp a while ago. Also installed office pro with frontpage. the old version of win 98 did not get deleted and was still on my harddrive only now I don't have a dos emulator to go in and delete it. So I was told evidence eliminator will delete all hidden files even my old win 98 to free up hard drive space. so I ran it. now I am missing a file called proplus.msi I cannot run any office applications. I just moved and found my win xp disk but not my frigging office xp pro disk...

Any way to fix this without my disk? I need my office stuff right away. The programs are there...it opens the files so I can see them but then says installing feature and won't let me do squat. ARGH!

AND win 98 is still hidden on the hard drive! I guess I should upgrade from the 4.3G but until then I'm hosed.

Help!!!

Try searching the net for the file and placing it in the folder.

Actually, you should search for that file on the install cd's of office XP.
Upgrading a machine is an excelent way to hose an otherwise perfectly good machine.

the problem is I cannot find my office xp disk. its mia in a box from our move. I really wanted frontpage xp which I do like a lot. or should I say did until I hosed it up trying to get more disk space....I will search for the file though. Thanks

well a quick scan of the net provided some very usefull info. This is a very common problem. it seems this and a few other needed files are stored in a temp directory. since the hard drive cleaner programs clear that folder your computer now thinks it does not have office loaded. microsoft actually has a patch you can download but you still need you cd...guess I'm going to be trolling through boxes looking for this cd all day...
