I have a great little runnig XL70 but now the treads are stripped for the spark plug and it is a wierd thread and the auto parts can not seem to get me the right helicoil. I was wondering it anyone knew of a better sorce for a heilcoil all i need is the helicoil not the tap or instalation tool it is a the plug is a 10X1 (i think i have the numbers in the right order) reach is about 1/2 inch but that is not crucial. but i may use this as an excuse to get a perfomance head and 85cc big bore kit. I am going to make it a mono shock by copying the XR rear suspention, any sugestions on the front to up the preload I was going to cut some PVC and put it on top of the springs to preload them.

for the helicoil just go to your local bike shop, they should have what you need and they could do it for you for prolly around 20 bucks.

are you sure the kit is like $70 from most tool supliers

damn honda uses so many screwy plug sizes and numbers what happened to B8ES's that go in most vintage bikes

A single size helicoil kit is about 20$. That includes some helicoils, drill, tap, and tool.
