Stock tyres on 6 y/old sons '02 XR 50 are worn down and I would like to replace front and rear with wider chunkier knobbies. Stock are 2.50 x 10 Cheng Shin. I was wondering does a 2.75 x 10 fit front and rear and who makes this size with a good knobby pattern for intermediate to hard trail surfaces (grass, dirt and rocks).

Thanks, any info appreciated,

Ann

Yep,
Pirelli and Dunlop both make a 2.75x10
I bought the Pirelli for $28.00US and put it on the rear of my kid's '00 XR50...
I found that Dunlop has a 2.75x10 756...Wish i'd have known that before i bought the Pirelli
I would say that they probably would fit the front too...I don't see why not, but I would put a 2.5 on the front and 2.75 on the rear for better handling

I believe Bridgestone makes 2.75 & 2.50-10's. I thought I read somewhere about them lasting longer too. I know from experience the Pirelli's wear down quick, good tire though.

You won't be able to find a 2.75 in a true front design. We use the Bridgestone 2.75 on the rear of our Cobra. Works good. We have used the Pirelli's front and rear as well. Kinda like them but have to replace them too soon.

Thanks everyone.

I went with Bridgestone 2.50-10 front and 2.75-10 rear. After 5 days straight of virtually non stop riding they seem to be working well, plenty of grip and wearing well so far.
