I just finished checking out hondas web page, and found out that the xr 250,and 400 are not listed as 05s as the 650 and the crf lines are. So I am thinking maby it is time to announce the 450x as a replacement for aged xr 400.

There was a post about this about a week ago. The the reply was that honda is not done listing out the specs, it is still early for the 05s. The xr's are still in production (which is good).

I'm pretty sure that Honda sells more XR's than any other bike so I doubt they's be ditching them anytime soon. It would be sort of tough to walk away from something that generates positive dollars and requires nothing more than BNG from time to time.

My point was that the xr 650 and most all the crf line has recieved there new graphics and labled as 05s. I dont see what the hold up could be regarding the 250 and 400 there virtually unchanged for years. Now maby there are getting major upgrades but with the 250x it seems to me odd. It maby my hopefull wish that the 450x will be announced this fall.

Besides the 50 I suspect the XR engines are pretty popular not just here but globally.

You would be right. Also in most of the third world there is a full line of XL models 125,200,250 and 400's. Which is basically an xr with turn signals. Down here they have a 250 tornado and a 400 falcon which is your basic xr engine and frame dressed up like a supermotard bike with electric start. The xl/xr line has been around for 30 years and it will probably go another 30 years.

They have the coolest 250 singles in Japan, and some seriously cool small streetbikes

The FTR and VTR are favorites

And what about the Yamaha 2Trac :yeehaw:

eeek, this topic really got me dreaming for a second :)

Oh yeah, I think the XR250 & XR650 will still be around for a little while longer, but I'll be sad to see the XR go away. I was sad to see the Yamaha MX's go away back in the mid 70's, but the future brought some really kool stuff and I think there's a lot more kool stuff yet to come in the very near future.
