XR400 clutch installation: stake center nut ?

I have removed the complete clutch assembly from my XR400. The clutch center nut had to be unstaked. I used a dremel. Fiddly work. When re-installing the clutch should I bother staking the center nut again ? I suspect the conservative answer is yes, but I am curious to learn from others experience. Has any one done this and how did you do it ? Punch or special tool or other ?
