My clutch has gone away on my xr4. Haven't ever replaced a clutch and am looking for advice on how easy/hard, what tools, and what to replace. Looked at dennis kirk at they list basket, steel clutch plates, friction plates and springs. Haven't pulled it apart so figure that's step one to determine what needs replacement.

Any help is appreciated. My buddy said take it to the dealer, but I'd rather do it myself an learn. Plus any opportunity to buy new tools is good IMO. :)

Honda engineered the XR4 for very easy clutch changes (I've done three so far). Get the manual and save the shop money. Opinions vary, but many say go with the stock clutch. Very early XR4s (96, maybe 97??) had weaker springs, which should be replaced.
