hi this looks like a great website. anyway i was wondering if anyone knows of some good websites where i could find general or specific info on rebuilding/cleaning my junker 84 yamaha XT 500 (mainly engine and carb)
diagrams would be nice i've looked forever and can't find squat

I used to have a well beaten XT600. I purchased a Clymers manual for it and found it helped with just about anything I needed to do on the bike.
