The TT600 was manufactured here in the states from 1983 to about 1996.

It was an odd model, and never was very popular over here, which is odd, because the TT500 did so well.

The engine is nice, and the design is good. I belive they're a little on the heavy side, and the XR600 is a better all-around bike.

I've only ridden one once, just down the road and back, so I don't have much input on how great (or awful) they are. Anyone else out there ever owned one?

Last time I looked, the Thumper Page had a few XT and TT 600 riders, check them out here:

Hope this helps a little!

The TT-600's and 350's suffered from poor turning characteristics.
Mediocre suspension, decent motors, poor turning.
High mileage TT/XT's will shake the main bearing sleeves that are cast into the cases loose.
When these bike were more popular/plentifull I used to resleeve the cases on at least two a month.
If you just want a whatever ripper playbike go for it. XR"s turn way better though.

Thanks a lot for the fast reply. It sounds you prefer the XR much more,
and I understand it's a very popular bike in the US?
