Unfortunately, this thread will likely end up as a Flame. Using anyone's ethnic, religious, socio-economic, or race as a qualification IMO is hogwash. Bill Murray in a movie once, desribed someone as "Clear". Hyphenated Americanism is a travisty to the Constitution and continues to divide the people of the United States. If you are an American, you should be proud of the fact, foremost, and your race, religion, or ethnic background should fall second. That does not mean that your religion should be second, rather in terms of Citizenship, it should not matter. Keep true to History.Originally posted by Milquetoast
Seems fine to me, especially in NYC where there are more non-white people than white people. The point isn't the color of the 3 people who happened to be the ones that erected that flag, it's that Americans erected the flag in honor of other Americans that died. Why do white people have to "own" everything?

The reason "hyphenated-Americanism" exists is because white people intentionally singled out others for hundred of years in this country as inferior. Whites made their bed and now they will just have to lay in it. Don't like it? Go back to whatever all-white European country your ancestors came from. Love it or Leave it, right?
Hyphenated Americanism fosters racism. I would like for racism to not exist, thus, no reason to be PC.Originally posted by Milquetoast
