I bought a cylinder for my 2001 yz 250 from **** and the seller said that it was from a 2001 yz 250, but how can I be sure that this cylinder will work correctlly on my bike? The reason for asking is that the cylinder that is on my bike now and this cylinder have two different numbers on the side above the displacement number. The number on my bike currentlly is 5CU00 and the cylinder from **** is 5MW00 does this make a difference. If idenifaction helps, the cylinder number is 0UC0900726 on top of the powervalve case and there is a B stamped above the intake cage on the cylinder.

well to be sure, have the guy give you the 10th digit of the VIN from the bike it came off of and that will tell you the year at least. Do the cyclinders look different or something that makes you think they are different. I would assum no two cylinders would have the same exact stampings on them when it comes to any type of model numbers etc.
