yz wide ratio gearbox

has anybody fitted the wr box from the wr 400/426 to their yz 250.any comments?

Do a search and/or member profile for olddortbaginmt. He posted here, 16 months ago, and claimed to have done what you want to do using a WR400 gear set; said they are the same but he had to relieve the case where 1st resides, ~ the thickness of your thumbnail...I've got his phone # & e-mail address, & will pass it on to you via PM if you will PM me 1st.

thanks placelast,could not find thread but the conversion works (no machining)on our 2001 250.will pick up converted 2002 250 tomorrow.

No machining? Tell us more, esp. those of us (desert riders) who could use a WR trans. What Yammie part #s to which YZ, what needs to be done, etc.
