If the drain cap on the bottom of the float bowl is sealing correctly, it is most likely sediment in the float needle or a bad float needle. When you reassemble the carb, check the float level also.

adjusting the float level, if i just bend the tab in twords the float valve that should push it to seal properly? is there any other reason it would be leaking from the bottom overflow tube? i just took apart and reasembled the float/valve and it is still leaking
