Last Anaheim Supercross Of 2022! | Pre-Race News Break
Supercross will complete its extended stay in Southern California with the Anaheim Three Supercross, the sixth race of the 2022 season. It’s been great to be back on the West Coast through these last few weeks, especially in a place as important to the sport as Orange County. This will be the 79th race that Angels Stadium has hosted, an unmatched number that accounts for 11-percent of all events in Supercross history.
Anaheim Three isn’t just the last California Supercross race in 2022; it’s also the last baseball stadium of the season. The Dirt Wurx crew has made the most of the diamond-shaped floor for this one and the track layout is big, busy, and full of creative elements, including a first-turn that goes between the finish line and a punchy, flat straightaway located between two high-speed berms. There’s another long set of whoops, 14 in total, and a sand pit that will challenge riders every single lap.
This will be the hottest race of the season so far, as forecasts say temperatures will be in the high 80s or low 90s during the Timed Qualifying. The heat, direct sun, and steady wind will suck whatever moisture is left in the California hard pack and could make things slick and technical for the night’s races.
