Shane McElrath on the SML Show
Presented by Ogio Powersports and FMF Racing
The 2019 season was filled with ups and downs for Troy Lee Designs KTM’s Shane McElrath. From being in title contention in the Western Regional 250 Supercross Series to sitting out the last several rounds with a back injury, to winning the Budds Creek 250 National in 1-1 dominating fashion, McElrath has experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. McElrath hasn’t ridden a motorcycle since the checkered flag flew at the season-ending Ironman National, and when he gets back in the saddle next Tuesday, October 1, it will be a fresh start for the North Carolina native. After a five-year stint on KTMs, McElrath will race for the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha squad in 2020 and beyond, and as a veteran of the 250 class, he is regarded by many as a championship favorite.
McElrath stopped by the SML studios to fill us in on what went on during his 2019 season, and what he expects in his new blue future!
