I recently picked up a '90 rm250 and here's whats going on.

First off its hard starting cold and warm. Sometimes not so bad warm. When I roll on the throttle it gives a slight boowah sound then hauls a$$.

It has a fmf phatty pipe..
carb: 1 1/2 to 2 turns out
needle jet 6AEJ1-63
Pilot: 50
Main: 360

I've pulled apart the carb and its clean as a whistle and even gave it a good spray down.
The reeds look new. Not sure now are they suppose to lay flat against each other or it looks like theres a slight gap at the tip of them. They are just plain fiberglass ones.
I do believe the silencer needs repacking.
There's plenty of top end power and low end besides the hesitation at first. :bang:
Any suggestions? Maybe a topend?

First thing is to do a compression check (I just went through all this). At sea level you should be over 185psi. Next, pull the cylinder off, check the piston/cylinder/crank over, and thoroughly clean the powervalve. It should move easily and smoothly by hand.

Once that's done you can think of possibly doing some jetting; that TMX carb sucks, btw. Jet needles are Suzuki specific, and backordered, and the needle jet is a non-replaceable item.
