airbox sealing

After reading Eric Gorrs Off-Road book, he recommends sealing junction
between boot and airbox with weather strip adhesive. Has anyone done
this? If you have did you apply to the edges of the rubber seal or on the
faces of the seal.

Yes. I disassembled the airbox and applied it to everything that looked like a mating surface. Two seasons later and it's still tightly sealed.
