Bike wont start

We have a(what it says on bike) mx(on seat) xr-9 extreme. It will not start. We have replaced the spark plug, have fire, getting fuel to carb, poured fuel into cylinder and ran just for a second and killed again. what should we do to fix or find out what is wrong. Thanks so much

Clogged pilot jet.

we are not farmiliar with dirt bikes. Can we take the carb apart and clean it, hear its not hard. Can we take it apart to clean the pilot jet. Have never fooled with carb before.

its not hard just shut off the fuel on the petcock (under the tank) drain the gas from the carb open up the bottem and clean up those little nozzles you see clean/reassemble and it should start right up

Wear eye protection when you spray the carb cleaner, being new to this there is a high chance of you getting it blown back at ya' by not realizing how tiny the passages are and that some are closed.
