WHAT BIKE CRF450 or RMZ 450

I currently have a 97 cr 250 but I want a 450. I am looking at the new 06 crf & rmz 450's the rmz is 500 dollars cheaper but has the 4 speed. I'm not sure if thats gonna be good in the woods any info would be great.
1) your physical size 5'6 185lbs
2) How physical / aggressive are you ? medium
3) what do you plan to ride- mx tracks mostly woods
4) Do you have any riding experience? 10 yrs
5) Do you think you will race ? no
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work? yes
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)? crf or rmz 450's
8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry? yes both
9) How much do you plan to spend on a bike? $6000
10) anything else that you think would help form an opinion
4 or 5 speed in the woods?

Last time i watched areana cross almost half the 450s were suzukies, and they finished 1,2,3 in one race.

So they are fast bikes, they pull so hard down low the 5 speed wont be much an advantage (if any at all)

Sure they won arena cross but when is the last time you rode a 4 speed in the woods, exactly you dont because the gearing sucks no matter what you do with it. Plane and simple if you must have a 450 go with hondas builet proof 4 stroke. My friend has a YZ250F with a 315 kit and it makes the best woods racer a man could ask for. He races in the 450 class A with it and wins 1st or 2nd at are local hare scrambels. Just my 2 cents and good luck with the picking and wedding.

did you go to the AX race at Bobcats Arena in Charlotte? i did, it was awesome, but the 250 class was filled with KXF and CRF450's, but there was a lot of RMZ250's in the lites class.

a 5 speed will be tamer in the woods because the gears are spaced farther apart than that of a 4 speed. ive heard of a lot of people liking the KX450F in the woods, as well as the track. if you dont like the bigger hit the 06' KXF/RMZ450's will give you, then go for the 5 speed.
