Eric, the Maico is one step further, what now?

Sometime ago I posted the thread about the old Maico's. I now have machined the 250 reed cylinder so that it will fit a 400cc liner. I measured a piston port cilinder and this is what I found:
-exhaust opens at 90 degr after TDC, starts closing 27degr after BDC.
-transfer ports opens 117degr after TDC, starts closing 64degr after BDC.
-intake opens 100 degr after BDC, closes 81degr after TDC.
What can be changed now this wil be a reed intake, I would like a smooth engine with some revs and torque at bottom. The new liner is 2 mm higher then the old one so I can lower the 250 cilinder by putting a thinner plate between it than I started out with.
Now that I can get to the ports easier, what should I do with the surface, I was thinking just blasting them, not polishing.
Any help is welcome. Thanks again.
