fuel overflowing-floats????

I just took the carb of the bike(2000 kx250),cleaned it real good and reinstalled.Now the thing starts overflowing gas out of the overflow tube.Do I have piece of trash in the needle and seat or what???I got it to start and idle for a minute and then when I gave it some gas it died and will not start.Any suggestions???

Somehow you got the float to not seat whether it is in crooked and jammed or maybe you bent the height adjustment. You probly flooded the bike when you revved it and I would bet the plug is wet. If you put in a new plug it will probably run for a short time until the plug gets wet again.

Cool thanks,I didnt mess with the floats.I just took bowl off and sprayed carb cleaner,then reassembled.

Wrong float height, floats installed wrong, float leaking, or a bad/dirty float valve and seat. Vintage Bob
