Anybody ever heard of hex spoke nipples? (as opposed to square or spline drive)

Seems like it'd be a little easier to get a wrench on them for adjustment.

I dunno, just a thought.

I don't have a problem using a real spoke wrench, I just hate it when the spokes get frozen and won't turn with vice grips!

I thenk that square nipples are typically used so that you get more surface area of your wrench on them. Like Jeff says above, it sucks when they seize up. The aluminum nipples are very prone to seizing on the steel spokes. However, I suppose that if they went to steel nipples then they would just seize in the rim and gall the hell out of the rim when/if you adjusted them. Anyhow, I'm thinking that square is the way to go.

The way to go would be no wheels at all, we could either use some sort of super magnetic field such that the rim would float around the hub or we could simply go to a wheelless hoover cycle! Wouldn't that be cool? :yeehaw:
