How much power did a 84 XR2004 have

Anyone know how much power a '84 XR200R had? This is the model with the dual carbs... If '84 is not available, any known value from the mid 80's would be helpful for this model.

A little more HP than the two valve single carb model......for a little while. I would guess something less than 20 HP on a good day. The single carb two valve engine is a more reliable option.

The dual carbs are a pain in the butt. Years ago, my old man had an 1984 XR500 with the RFVC motor. I found an old thread in which Rich claimed the XR200 has 18 horsepower...he seems to be a reliable source.

probably about 13hp. Kind of a tird bike with small suspension and dual drums.

Much better off with the single carb version.

I had one and it was over weight and gutless if I remember correctly and I was 12-14 at the time!

Not much, but I do know that when they are in top condition and being thrashed hard they can just keep up with a totaly flogged out 1980 yz125 being ridden by a heavier rider.
