I just finished a test ride and the difference is huge! It used to take a slight tug on the bars to carry the front wheel in third, now all it takes is a twist of the wrist. I will most likely switch back to stock gearing now that the bike can pull it. The power change is most noticible with a longer mid range pull. It definetly did not lose any low end grunt.

For those that are interested I cut the pipe on the engine side. Look for the spot welds just inside the factory weld lines and use these as the outer perimeter of your cut. I chose to cut 1/2 inch inside the welds and it made getting the perforated layer out a lot harder. I chose to braze mine back in as it is a lot easier to get a nice joint on really thin material. As for jetting Just KDX homesite is a good place to start.(mod specs) I still want a torque pipe to compare to but so far I am really happy with the result.
