FYI, folks. Riding a 2002 EXC400. Odo cable routes to loop outside the fork, then tuck up into the number plate from the bottom, from behind the forks, over the top of the bottom triple-clamp, between the fork-leg and front fender. Had turned my fork tubes around, for easier access to the bleed screws (run my bars as far forward as possible). Noticed a flat spot worn, now on the outside of the throttle-side stantion tube. was worn there by the odometer cable rubbing on it! i mean..., a real honest-to-god inch long & 1/4" wide FLAT SPOT worn right into the aluminum of the FORK LEG fer cryin' out loud!! Other routing of the cable is awkward..., so just threw on a couple layers of duct tape to the inside of the stantion tube. Will check them periodically, to catch any wearing before the fork gets a flat spot on the other side!
