Try this: http://www.pitracer.com/track-guide-main.php?pageid=12 Look at this for Dayton, Ohio: http://www.pitracer.com/track-guide-detail.php?pageid=164 Here are the ones local to me: Cross Creek MX - pretty long track with some interesting jumps. Finish line jump is a step up onto tabletop about 100 feet to the end. The track is very narrow in spots, though. The people who run it are very nice - they let me come and practice for free last fall for 3 hours. They didn't allow ATV's in 2005. Lots of open practices in 2005. Not AMA. http://crosscreekmotox.com/ Wolf Creek Motocross - I haven't raced here, but I drove by. I wasn't really impressed. It's certainly better than nothing, but with Cross Creek less than a mile away, I don't think I'd ever race there. Not AMA. http://www.wolfcreekmx.com/ Milton Motocross (in West Virginia about 30 minutes from the Ohio border - this is an interesting track. Built at the county fairgrounds. This track is kindof a combination of supercross and outdoor. It's built in a valley and on a hill, and the stands are on a hill over the valley. The start is in the valley and turns up the hill - hill is about 200 feet long and you jump off the top, then into a quick right hand 180, back down the hill, etc. . . You end up climbing the hill 3 or 4 times depending on how they have it set up. Very challenging and usually well prepared. Not AMA. http://www.miltonmotocross.com/ Mason County Motocross - My local track. It's in West Virginia 10-15 minutes from Gallipolis, Ohio (look on Route 35 on the map along the Ohio River. It was smallish in 2005, but rumor has it they're going to expand it 150-200% this year since it made the fair $20,000.00 last year. Tabletop, Step up, whoops, small rhythm section, medium finish line double, smaller doubles. This is a perfect track for 85s and 125s. The kids on 50s and 65s like it as well. 250 class bikes are a bit of overkill since the track is pretty tight. You'll usually have 4-8 bikes in your class. In 2005, they had Open practices on Wednesdays prior to race from 4:30-dark. Not AMA. See same site - http://www.miltonmotocross.com/ - run by the same people, but they don't have their own site yet. If you need more info, you can contact them through that site. There was going to be an AMA track at Kanawha Valley dragway. A local pro (Steve Childress) built the track in the fall and had a couple practices. However, Steve and the dragway owner could not come to a financial agreement over the winter. I expect the dragway owner planned to screw Steve all along and is going to run it himself. Nevertheless, Steve is out and I don't have anymore info - I suspect the dragway site will have info if they decide to run the track. This track is about 15 minutes from Gallipolis, Ohio. The dragway site is: http://www.kanrace.com/ There is a rumored new track going in Charleston, West Virginia. http://www.michaelmolesracing.4t.com/custom2.html There's a small track in Vinton, Ohio. Middle of nowhere. 20 minutes from Gallipolis. It's not very good, but they good news is that in 2005 there was unlimited free practice. Just show up. They did start running races again on Staurdays in late 2005, so I'm not sure what they're going to do this year. Info here: http://www.pitracer.com/track-guide-detail.php?pageid=169 Here's the killer one, although I haven't raced there yet. Fast Traxx MX. AMA sanctioned, built by a founding member of Dirt Wurx. They have a motocross track, supercross track and harescrambles. It's between Nelsonville and Athens, Ohio. They have held Loretta Lynn's qualifiers there. http://www.fasttraxxracing.com/ FlyMX park - I haven't been there yet, either. Looks pretty good, though. Outdoor style. 3/4 mile long track. AMA http://www.flymxpark.net/ Logan, Ohio track, AMA. http://www.cocr.com/ Sunday Creek AMA with a Grand National Cross Country. Athens, Ohio area. http://www.sundaycreekraceway.com/index.html Wild Wilderness AMA. Logan, Ohio. http://www.wildwildernessraceway.com/ You can find all the others on pitracer. Hope that helped.
