Who has the record for the most consecutive 250cc U.S. outdoor MX championships?

And who is going to break it first?

Tony D won 3 straight in '75 - 77. Ricky should win his third this year, but who knows what '03 will bring? Perhaps injury or a young gun will step up and knock him off. Four in a row would be huge.

Correct, you win the grand prize! Just send $1000 for an all expense paid 5 days - 4 nights vacation to Disney World Orlando (excluding hotel, rental car, airfare and food and drinks). Certain restrictions apply.

there's an interesting little story about jones in the new racerx. it says that in his '71 championship he was "top american" where he actually placed 7th. it also says he won his fourth championship when frontrunner karsmakers was declared ineligible because he wasn't an american citizen.

I searched using google, and it is hard to find good information on US motocross pre '72.

To confuse the issue about '71, I did find one bio on the Flyin' Hawaiian, John DeSoto, that proclaimed him US 250cc champ in '71.

Jones and Tony D both deserve credit for their accomplishments, especially when you look at the big names that won 2 in a row.

Is this what ended Bob's career? What happened?
