Help!! anyone knows which is the top ring and which is the middle (2nd) ring?
Quote from my Haynes manual pg 2-34 Section 15.9: "Install the no.2 (middle)ring next. It can be readily distinguished from the top ring by its cross-section shape (see illustration 15.7c). Do not mix the top and middle rings."
Fig 15.7c has an exploded view of the piston with the top ring having a "T" inscribed on the surface at the ring end.
However upon close examination of the rings I bought (original Honda Parts), there is no such marking or any indication of which ring is which. One ring is black and is 0.99mm thick, while the silver one is 0.98mm thick. Both have the inscription N25 on the surface near the ends.
I'm worried there'll be trouble if I mix up the rings.
Anyone has any ideas?
