how do you guys measure how much oil you're putting in? I usually guestimate by using the measurements on the side of the oil bottle, so i'm looking for a more accurate way of doing it.

Like others have said...Putting less oil in the mix is not the correct way to solve an oil deposit problem...All you do by using that method is create another potential disaster that will make a smoky/oily exhaust problem seem like child's play...

If your exhaust is overly oily on 32:1 then you have jetting issues.

I would avoid following any oil label recommendation for premix ratios if it suggests anything higher than 40:1...

Main Bearing

I spun a main bearing on a 250 a couple of years ago. I was using Motul at 50:1. I'm not 100% sure the ratio was the culprit, but I havent ran 50:1 since.
Same thing here with a KX 125, I burned the main and havent done 50:1 since. Any thing 250 and above even BelRay recomends 40:1 and 32:1 for 125's and smaller. Running a higher ratio means less oil is getting your mains properly lubed. I guess it all depends on how often you want to redo the top end. Or worse, spinning a main.
