Pulling Magneto

Hey Fellas,

Is the puller used to remove the magneto assembly specific or will a generic puller suffice?
I need to pull apart the generator sections on both my CR250 and PW80 due to corrosion / rust from water. I don't currently own a puller so suggestions on what to pick up for this job is appreciated.

There are specific pullers however, you can sometimes use a steering wheel puller.. Go to www.motionpro.com
They are pretty cheap, so I wouldn't mess around with anything other than the proper tool for this.

if you use a jaw type puller, you are more prone to damaging the flywheel.... i have doen it, but the actual honda one does not pull from the back, it threads into the flywheel and presses it off that way
