My birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I think I want to tell my parents that I want brush guards for my new bike. I really don't want to just get the plastic guards because if I take a fall, they won't protect my hand from the impact at all and I can still easily snap a lever off. I was looking at this pair from Acerbis, the Rally 2 guards that I really like. They have the aluminum spine on them to guard against impact and basically completely protect your levers. I'm kinda confused on if you need to buy the mounting kit seperately or not because on that particular page, they say two contradicting things. Also I want these to fit perfectly and not restrict my throttle movement or lever movement. On my friend's XR250, the right side is pinched hard so his throttle does not twist back on it's own and I'll be furious if I have something that crappy. So can anyone steer me in the right direction.

I have acerbis minirallys and they are good! get the rallys. If you have a special bar you needspecial mounting but if you have stock ones they come with the mounts. buy them from a dealer or call em up.

Enduro Engineering.

I'm looking on those Enduro engineering guards. They look nice but I am wondering if I have to buy the aluminum guards as well as the flares seperetely to get the look I want.

No question: get the Cycra Pro Bends with the triple clamp mounts (instead of handlebar). They have a cool bend to give you more room, they are strong (I've never spun them) and high quality. http://www.cycra.com

Though the Enduro Engineering guards come in a close second.
