Well, I just found out that my latest biking injury is really a doozey. While riding my KTM 380 about a month ago I made the (stupid) mistake of trying to free my stuck throttle cable...whilst I was riding...in a very rocky area. It seems when I put the bike back together from measuring my top end, I did not route the dang thing properly so it was sticking while riding and starting to rev quite high. Instead of stopping to fix it like I should have, I tried to adjust it while moving cuz I didn't want to hold up the guys I was riding with. Well, I was in 2nd Gear (Satan's Gear as I like to call it on that bike) and that is where all the power is...I gave it a nudge and she pulled loose and opened the throttle wide open. I got bucked off that thing like a cowboy on bull. I think I went flying 15 or so feet and I am 250+ so when I landed on some large rocks...it was not a good thing. I knew right away I was hurt pretty bad...I had a terrible charlie horse in my thigh and I couldn't move my left arm. Turned out I completely dislocated the arm and bruised the quadripceps in my leg. Both got pretty swollen and I could not walk much for a week but the leg got better...the shoulder did not. I can't lift it above my head to save my life and it constantly feels like it is gonna pop out again. So, I've been seeing a specialist and had the MRI. Turns out I ripped the rotator cuff and ripped the cartilage around the socket which holds the arm in the socket. They can't tell for sure, but I may have a ripped tendon as well. Go for surgery December 2nd, right after Thanksgiving!! They are going to try the arthroscopic way but if it is too bad, they will just open it up. Depending on the outcome, I am out of the riding game for 2-4 months. The part that really stinks is after I had the accident, I got rid of Beelzebub :p and got me a nice 400 with the magic button. Fits me like a glove. I've ridden it a couple of times and I absolutely love it but I have to let her sit for quite awhile. Oh well, I guess I'll be spending more time on here for awhile.
