[QUOTE="Okiewan, post: 1438789, member: 16119"] There were a lot of great minds that helped shape that bike, the build thread is still here if anyone wants to see how it came to be ... A couple of things stand out after reading that Dirt Rider Mag article again. 1. When I first started DRN, I was riding with AJ from Service Honda, Jeremy from MX-Tech, Eric Gorr, Rich Rohrich (and of course Pokie!)... the list goes on... Wardy who kept me up to speed on everything AMA and the ins and outs of owning a track and running events (he was instrumental in the success of DirtWeek events)... point being, it was a matter of right place at the right time for all of us. It jelled... we made a website that was low on BS and high on accuracy. That pissed a lot of internet puffers off, oh well. They started some other sites... and lived happily ever-after. The forum members decided what kind of bike they wanted and through a combination of our moderators (mentioned above) and several aftermarket companies who donated their knowledge and more importantly their parts, lol, knocked it out of the park. The SoCal mags were certain that ONLY SoCal shops could build high-end bikes, suspension & motors ... we proved that there are some outfits in the "fly-over States" that could run with any of 'em. Turns out that Jeremy, AJ, Eric, Rich and the members of this site are indeed... MOTO BAD ASSES. It's common knowledge these days. Which segways to; 2. It was great to read all the good stuff the mag wrote about the bike. It was several months in planning and a lot of work for the ones that built it. BUT for me, the crowning moment was reading what the reviewer said about our members and this forum. I've got to admit it... I leaked a little. It's like working on something so freaking hard for so long, and then someone completely disconnected from it, describes it in a way that is EXACTLY what you wanted it to be. That is satisfying. But, I ramble. Safe to say, that Shoot-Out was a great time for everyone involved. Here's a link to the forum we used to do the project. Some good stuff in there.
