What front tire?

what kind of front tire do i need to match up with a rear paddle tire for sand, or does it make any difference?

for me I like a hard pack tyre with lots of shorter knobs and a wide footprint. I find agressive mud tyres try to dig down to the hard base and on dune sand often there is no hard base (endo city)
There is also a lot of different sand types so someone from where you intent to ride may have good local knowledge and be of more help

Go here and look for the Maxxis Maxx Cross Sand and Mud Terrain tire. I run this tire on my bike and it hooks up great in the sand!
