Winter rebuild, Ideas for next year of ridding

I have never pulled my KIPS out to inspect and clean, nor have I checked my piston and cylinder out. I am planning on pulling the cylinder and checking things out. I am also thinking about sending the cylinder to Fredette and having him do some port work. A fresh piston, ring and a woods pipe with a new siliencer should wake it up a bit. I also need to give the whole bike a good overall service for next year.

any thoughts on port work for more power? Just looking for some imput and or other ideas

Yeah there is usually several months in the winter that I don't go ridding here in Colorado because all of the higher altitude trails are snowed in. I could ride all year but I just hold off until my favorite trails are clear from snow.

Here are a few things you might consider:

fork oil change
shock oil change
disc brake fluid change
coolant change
take tires and tubes off rims to check for water damage (mine had it)
decarbon pipe and stock spark arrestor (if still stock SA)
clean and grease all bearings that need it
if you care enough to strip it to the frame, you can use some touch-up paint

Hope this helps

make sure piston, rings, KIPS are within service limits before spending "go fast" money on a pipe

Good idea thanks
