'02 kx125 or rm125

I was thinking of getting a 250 but went to the dealer and they have both of this bikes on sale. With my trade in it works out to $900. So my question is which one is better?. Or any thoughts at all on either bike would be nice. I have a '99 kx125 and have riden a '00 kx and the only rm i've riden was a '98 and I hated it has much changed?.

I havent ridden one, but the KX is supposed to be very slow. The 03 is supposed to be a lot better though. I would definitely get the suzuki.

Save for the '03 KX 125! This bike is supposed to be awesome! I have an '02 KX 125, and I love it. But everytime I go into the dealership, I need a drool bib when I see the new '03. Go out to kawasaki.com and check it out. I highly recommend the '03.

what did you hate about the 98 RM? The new bikes have better ergonimics and a better build quality. The RM engine is much easier to ride fast than the KX.

Im also wondering what you hated about the 98 rm125? Since mid-nineties the rm's have always had strong motors.

Well it didn't help it wasn't set-up for me. But for starters the motor was flat like my kx I have right now walks all over it from bottom-mid there was nothing i mean nothing. but I realize I can't base my opinion on that bike since alot can change in four years.

Well, if you're looking for a low-mid engine, save your money and buy the 250. I have not ridden an 02 RM 125 or an 02 KX 125, but from reading alot of threads concerning these bikes, I would bet that neither of them have very much in the low-end. Hopefully, someone who has direct experience with these bike will chime in for you.

I haven't ridden a '02 RM 125, Ridden my friends '01 RM 125 and it was suppose to have better bottom than the '02. The RM makes decent bottom end for a 125 but if you fall off the pipe it gets real lazy/laggy feeling and compared to my '02 YZ 125 it was alittle bit harder to get it ripping again. The RM worked best when ridden in the mid/top the bike loves to scream it has alot of over rev for a 125. My YZ would go flat in over rev before the RM did. But my YZ also pulled harder off the bottom and its motor was more forgiving if you fell off the pipe it was easier to get back on the pipe. The RM is an awesome ride but it required alittle bit more input from me if I goofed. They were equal in mid range and on par with each other on top with the RM having a tiny edge cause it would over rev and not go flat as easy. I hope that helps ya some.
