02 RM 85 vs 05 RM 85 Much Difference?

I'm looking for an RM 85 for my 11yr old. It'll be his first two stroke, just for riding not racing. Found a nice 02 and an 05.

Any major diferences on these bikes? Just wondering if it's worth the differenc in price, probably $500. Both are in great shape.

There aren't too many differences, but there have been some improvements.
The later model will be easier to sell when the time comes.
Assuming they are in similarly good condition, the '05 should be worth more than $500 more than the '02.
