I am having a terrible time with the base gaskets. They are leaking on the left side where the transfers are. I have torqued correctly, tightened correctly, tried dry gaskets, coating with yamabond etc. I have seen a few other yz's with this problem and was wondering what people were doing to fix it. The stock gaskets do not form a complete seal, meaning that there is a metal to metal gap before the gasket starts???? Anyway cometic is going to send me a metal one with viton rubber on it to see if that fixes the problem. I do not believe that the cases a warped and I just put a new cylinder on it.

Could it be that the Alingment pins that fit over the Studs are too long? I can't rmember if they are on the right half or left half of the crankcase.. Mine seals up o.k.
