Women's Motocross League 2003 National Scheduled Released
More Coverage on ESPN 2

(Feb. 10, 2003) Bend, Or: The Women's Motocross League (WML) is pleased to announce the 2003 AMA-WML Outdoor Motocross Championship Series and the increase in TV coverage within the AMA Motocross telecast on ESPN 2. Thor will join returning sponsors Honda, Scott USA, Dunlop and Alpinestars to present this growing women's professional motocross championship.

The six-round WML Series will run in conjunction with the AMA/Chevy Trucks U.S. Motocross Championships and will begin at Glen Helen Raceway, San Bernardino, CA on May 9-10. The second stop of the Championship will take place at Hangtown, Sacramento, CA on May 18. This stop will also be the 2003 WML International Championship with both WML Pro motos taking place on Sunday the first during the opening ceremony and the second during the intermission of the AMA men's Pro National. From there, the series will go to Washougal, WA, then to Spring Creek MX, MN; Broome-Tioga Sports Center, NY; and Steel City MX, PA.

The WML expects to have greater exposure to the fans through increased TV coverage within the AMA Motocross telecasts on ESPN 2, a WML designated Pro Pit area at the Nationals (near non-seeded Pro pits), WML booth in vendor row, and inclusion of WML Pro racing in some of AMA Pro Racing's marketing materials.

"We spent a lot of time working out a schedule with each track promoter to offer the best exposure for women's pro racing," said Miki Keller, WML President, "We want to give the fans a chance to see how far women's motocross has come, inspire young females to ride and to let parents everywhere know their daughters can have a future if they work hard. With the NPG working us into their schedule and with the help of AMA Pro Racing in securing us television time and other benefits, we know we have a great year ahead."

Honda (HRCA), Scott USA, Dunlop, Alpinestars, and Thor will present the WML series, with additional support from Racer X Illustrated magazine, Girls Learn to Ride, Throttle Jockey, Pro Clean and I Precision Printing.

The 2003 schedule is as follows:
- Round # 1 May 9 - 10 Glen Helen Raceway, San Bernardino, CA
- Round # 2 May 18 Hangtown MX, Sacramento, CA
- Round # 3 Jul 26 Washougal MX, Washougal, WA
