I solved my starting problem. Now im trying to figure out my other ones.

I cant get the bike to idle without turning the idle screw up to where it revs entirely too high. There is no happy spot. It either wont do it or it does it too high.

Secondly when im cornering unless im on the throttle pretty hard it wants to pop when going in and then bog when coming out.

With my limited knowledge i was leaning towards the jetting from what i have read but could the valves also be a culprit?

I googled around and i cant find a faq that shows me how to check valve clearance or how to set the jets or even check them. Im broke so getting a pro to look at it is out of the question.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Im new here. :(

Micas, try using the DRN forum search engine for some general knowledge on your bike. Lots of interesting articles related to your bikes particular quirks. Also, googling should have netted you this article:

How to check and shim:

Here's one that has more general discussion on some issues which have concerned you.

More jetting from the 2 stroke forum, but good education for you:

If you are really too lazy to read the links within the links, I'll post the general ones here:

(Some of the articles within the jetting links forum have been deactivated, unfortunately. Maybe one of the mods will search and relink them? Or else google the original docs.)

This is a good "how to" general page with links to places of interest around the internet.

I would start by cleaning the carb out. Remove all the jets, blow thru them with compressed air. Blow out the 1 way valves in the carb bowl and carb, the leak jet and then make sure your AP is working. Also remove the hot start plunger, clean it and put some grease on the O ring and reinstall it
