Oh yea it helped but I think porting alone makes anything work better. I dont know I guess. I never ran the porting with the stocker. If you can just run the stocker. Honestly it would save money and maintenance. I hate having to clean the pipe to keep it from rusting.

As for the switch to the 2-stroke, I was just bored with 4-strokes and wanted somethign different. The new YZ's looked cool and heard good things about them so I figured what the heck. So far I am very pleased. I think I enjoy my 125 more than the 250. Especially now after the port job.

The FMF SST works much better on my 01 YZ250 than the Fatty or stock. It's smooth and revs further. I did not jetting at all. No pinging. I have had many FMF pipes and I never had any problems. Only good results.
Now I can't speak for the 05 YZ125, because I don't have anyother pipe for mine than stock right now.

Remember, Erik even says that "Speed is 95% Rider, 5% Bike. Better make that 5% count"
You could put a squid rider on a works bike and he still will get smoked by the average rider on a stocker.
