Has anyone heard if the 06 KX250 will have an aluminum frame? I heard this from a dealer but I really don't think that he knew what he was talking about.

I have not heard that, but it wouldn't be that unbelievable. However, he was probably referring to the KX250F, which will have an aluminum frame similar to the CRF's.

I just can't see the new kx250 having new a new frame. They spent all there R&D bidget on there 4-stokes.

I would think that photos of prototypes w/aluminum frames would have been seen long before they released them.

Kawasaki essentially did a full redesign for the 2005 KX250, which won several of the shootouts. It just wouldn't make sense IMHO to re-tool for a new frame just one year later.

I think your dealer is confusing the KX250 with the KX450.

The 450 will come with an aluminum frame, this we’ve already updated the design. Also the other models will possible come with aluminum frames, maybe in 2007. For 2006 our main focus will be on the KXF450.

Kawasaki can't even get the aluminum frame on the upcoming 450 to stop breaking, why would they put a 250f or 250 motor in one.

Interesting. I'd have to check my mags at home, but that is not my recollection. And a glance online shows that DirtRider ranked the KX #1 overall and Transworld rated the KX handling better than the YZ. I think you're just referring to MXA, but regardless I can say from experience that the KX is a sweet handling machine.

Even if the KX was a complete dog - which it's not - I still don't think you'd see a new frame one year after a ground-up redesign. Expect minor refinements and BNG for 2006.

Somewhat off topic, but.. Watch the movie clips of Byrne out at Lakewood on both the KX250 and the 450. Tell me he doesn't look way more comfortable on the 250. Probably not a reliable reflection on the new four stroke, but it's interesting nonetheless.

The kx450f sounded horrible Pace when I was there. Maybe it was the stock silencer, but I thought it sounded like crap.

Have a look at www.motorcycledaily.com they have got the new 2006 Kawasaki specs and photo's! No ally frame for the KX250 but the 250F and 450F have got ally!

Big news is, no more KX125!!! They have stopped making it!!!

The KX250 has a new kickstart lever! I like the way the 250F and 450F look with the aluminum frame and two piece radiator shrouds.
