[QUOTE="cleopatrisha, post: 1182526, member: 74273"] I bought a used clutch assy from a 1980 yz465 to put in my 1980 yz250. the part numbers for the pressure plate, boss clutch and the primary driven gear comp. all match. The confusing thing is the yz465 clutch has one extra friction and steel clutch plate (disc) than mine. which I looked up and found the yz465 indeed does have 7 friction and 6 steel plates. so anyway even though the part #'s of the 3 main bodies of the clutch match. will they interchange and can I just leave one of each clutch plate out when install it? because that is the only difference I can find is the number of plates in each clutch.
