Hello im new here and would like some info. I just got a 1986 CR 125, i noticed that the clutch/water pump side cover is covered with JB weld around the water pump inlet/outlet. Looked into it further by taking the cover off and finding JB weld inside the cover as well. The water and gearbox oil is mixing turning the oil yellowish. Im in the process of getting another cover, can i ride it till the i get the new cover long as i replace the oil after every use or should i wait.

It's probably not your cover that's the problem. Replace your waterpump seal. The CRs had bad corrosion problems with water pump housing from 81-87 due to dissimilar metals (aluminum and magnesium). And as the bikes aged and owners started to replace the factory coolant with tap water, it ate pin holes in the water pump housing. The quick fix was/is usually to coat the housing with an epoxy. But that doesn't stop the water pump seals from wearing out and needing occassional replacement.
