1986 CR 250, needs some Sprucing up, Tips?

Hey, i have Decided to go ahead and Purchase the CR 250 after all, its actually a really nice bike, just needs some loving, it Basiclly looks crappy but Runs like a Champ!... but anyways, im gonna have around $200 to play around with, so What kind of things can i do to make the bike look nice, Maybe new plastics?, paint job?, Stickers?, Please let me know ASAP!!

Make sure it is mechanically good before you spend a dime on cosmetics. A good looking bike that can't be ridden isn't much use.

From there, start by giving it a really good washing, with scrub brushes and degreasers. Don't be afraid to strip the bike down for access. A clean bike looks better already, and is easier to work on.

The cheapest cosmetic upgrade will be to repaint the frame. Plastic, seat covers and graphics will eat up that $200 very quickly.

it dosent hurt to dissassemble it and inspect everything, when was the last time the rings were replaced? just because it runs good dosent mean its performing at its best. theres always somthing else that needs attention. id say spend the money on somthing mechanical so you can atleast get it riding and then worry about cosmetics!
