1992 kdx250 gearbox oil

What is the recommended? Is it 10-30?

A friend put 10-30 in there and the bike would not shift. He is using the Honda fluid. That is suppose to be the same stuff in the bike I just got. Could you use synthetic ATF in it?

The recommended lube is 85W gear oil. I use ATF type F in mine.

I ride a 94 KDX 250 and use 75W gear oil, it seems to shift almost to easy so I agree with spanky250, use 85W.
